The holidays are coming up so the atmosphere should be filled with excitement and everyone should be in high spirits…. until you realize that right before holidays you have to endure a straight week of grueling midterms. I’m not sugar coating anything- midterms suck. The only thing worse than midterms are finals, but you’ll hear about that later in May.  Anyways, midterms suck because they bring such a great deal of stress and anxiety in terms of studying and wanting to get a good grade and they happen RIGHT before the holidays. Then you have to go through the same thing again at the end of the year except you quadruple the stress and anxiety!!! Like I just want to curl up in a ball and sleep- is that too much to ask?!?!

So yes, needless to say midterms are a pain. But fear not!! I have come up with a list of ways to not only conquer your midterm stress, but provided you with some study tips as well…:

CONQUERING MIDTERM STRESS

  • BE PREPARED!! It’s never a good idea to procrastinate your studying and try to cram everything in to one night before the test so do yourself a favor and start studying now.
  • GET A GOOD NIGHTS SLEEP.  You’ve heard this one before, but it’s true. Not getting a good night’s sleep may leave you feeling tired and unfocused while taking the exam.
  • EAT A GOOD BREAKFAST AND BRING A GOOD LUNCH.  Don’t got to either of your exams with an empty stomach- eat something good like fruits, vegetables, or whole grains. Things like processed foods tend to leave you hungry and produce more stress during test taking.
  • RELAX AND JUST BREATH.  I know it’s easier said than done but trust me, stressing out is going to get you nowhere. Use positive reinforcement and just remember to breathe.
